An owner deciding whether to fix a vessel now or wait needs the earnings the current voyage is running at, and that figure is assembled at month end from bunker invoices, port accounts and the hire ledger. By the time it is accurate the fixture decision has already been made on a broker’s indication and a feel for the market. If you finance or lease vessels, that is a desk in your own business.
What the work is
An agent maintains a running voyage result per vessel from the fixture terms, the reported consumption at the speed being run, the bunker prices actually paid and the port accounts received so far, and shows which cost lines are actuals and which are still estimates. The estimate is labelled as one. What it does not do
Whether to fix the vessel at the rate on the table or hold out for the next window, because the market view behind that call is the owner’s and cannot be delegated to a running total. That is not a limitation of the software. It is the line the reference design draws on purpose, and a vendor who offers to move it is selling you something else.

Take time charter equivalent, voyage result, bunker price into the demonstration and use them without explaining them. A vendor whose agent handles this work already knows those words; one who asks what they mean is showing you a system built for a different trade.
