The pack that goes out is the one that got finished, so an opening balance that does not tie to last month’s closing balance travels to the syndicate unchallenged. What the work is
An agent compiles the pack from the ledgers and the loan schedules, ties each opening balance to the prior period’s closing balance, reproduces the amortisation and interest figures from the facility terms, and flags every figure that does not reconcile before the pack is assembled. The pack waits for a person before it leaves. What it does not do

It is the line the reference design draws on purpose, and a vendor who offers to move it is selling you something else.
