A ship finance facility tests the loan against the vessel’s market value on a set interval using valuations from approved brokers, and a soft market can erode the cover between two test dates. The valuations arrive as broker letters that are filed, so the headroom the group actually has is only calculated when the test falls due and the top-up demand is a surprise. What the work is
An agent records each broker valuation per vessel with its date and its basis, maintains the loan to value position against the current loan balance between test dates, and raises the vessels approaching the facility threshold with the valuations it used. It shows the valuation date so a stale letter cannot masquerade as current. What it does not do
Whether to pre-empt a value test by prepaying, posting cash collateral or opening a conversation with the lender, because approaching a bank before it approaches you is a relationship decision. That is not a limitation of the software. It is the line the reference design draws on purpose, and a vendor who offers to move it is selling you something else.

Take loan to value, minimum value clause, approved broker valuation into the demonstration and use them without explaining them. A vendor whose agent handles this work already knows those words; one who asks what they mean is showing you a system built for a different trade.
